This site was my first dabble into the world of PHP, and while I don't claim to know a whole lot more now than I did then, I know enough to know that the script on this site has a lot suck to it. It's dynamic to a certain extent, which is really what I was going for originally, but the code really isn't as condensed as it could or should be. I've been making minor changes here and there, so that it flows a little better. The big thing I've been wanting to add for a while now has been an RSS feed.
In today's internet, you really can't expect people to visit your website every day so that you can check their blog to see if they've written anything new. Well, you probably could if you were Mark Cuban
, but I am not. Therefore, in order to make it less of a hassle for everyone, you have to have an RSS feed. God knows I have at least 15 blogs sitting on my blog tab on my Google Homepage (Adding tabs to the Google Homepage setup is the coolest thing ever, by the way), all of which are there because of the RSS feed that accompanies it. So, I finally got off my ass and put together a basic feed for anyone to add to their Google Homepage or feed reader of choice.
I suppose the next thing on my list should be some kind of comments section for my entries (Although I doubt I have the traffic to make something like that necessary). I'll probably work on cleaning up some of my code before I jump on a task like that, though.
So, the link to the feed is on the left. If you have a Google homepage you'd like to add it to, and you have a Google toolbar on your browser, just click on the RSS button, and then click the Subscribe button on your toolbar. It's that easy.
