Can someone explain to me this desire women have to take their significant others shopping with them? I don't particularly enjoy shopping, especially where Melissa likes to go, yet my presence is usually requested.
I guess I must be an unseen source of emotional support. I know it has nothing to do with my usefulness, since I don't really feel qualified to answer a question like 'Do you like the long suit coat or the short suit coat?' Then again, I usually carry the heavy bags, so I suppose I serve some purpose, even if it's only manual labor.
And yes, I'm writing this from outside the fitting rooms in New York & Company, in case you were wondering.
