Okay, so I didn't dissect my 24k tourney like I wanted to...oh well. Let's just say I killed the tournament in the first hour and chipped up to about 8,500 or so by the first break, went completely card dead for the second hour, then hit a ton of suckouts on people left and right before settling down and playing some good poker once we got down to the last 100 or so.
I played some cash games for an hour and a half or so, and it actually went pretty well. I was two-tabling and ended up at a combined 28 BB/Hr or $56/Hr. It would have been close to double that but in the last fifteen minutes of my session I ran JJ into a shorty with QQ preflop and TT into a shorty with JJ on a 7-high flop. Nothing wrong with how I played either one of those, just unfortunate it worked out that way. At least they were shorstacks so the damage was limited to about $65 or so.
Other than that, I was very effective with my pocket pairs, winning all three times I had aces for a total of about $60. Overall my aces stats are improving, they now have a 73.33 win percentage, although I'm still in the red with them, but not by much. Few more pots and I should be back in business.
I've talked to Alan
about this, basically he supports his tournament donkery through his cash game play, and I support my cash game donkery through my tournament play. I'm profitable in both my MTT and S&G statistics, but I just can't find my way in the cash games, which I don't understand at all. But I think I'm starting to come around. My sessions are coming out positive more and more often. I'm still not winning the big pots that I'd like, but I'm close.
On a side note, I've updated some of the site navigation along the left, including the newly added archive feature, which I think is pretty neat, and at the very least should help out my SEO. There are some blogs I need to add to the blogroll, hopefully I can get to that soon.
