Poker :: I don't understand...
  submitted on August 20, 2007, 6:38 PM

Maybe I'm missing this part of my poker game, but there is one thing I feel like I encounter with some frequency: slow-playing AK. I just don't understand it. Sure, there are some situations where it might be appropriate. But at the end of the day, AK is only A-high. It's not a very effective trap hand. If you want to slow place Aces, or Kings, at least you can trick someone into thinking you don't have much of a hand when you do. However, AK can be beat by any pair, and when you limp with it, you're just asking to get beat. Such a stupid play. I constantly see people losing with it.
